Circle announces the
implementation of its Milos® Intelligence solution—designed to develop smart intermodal logistics
hubs—as part of a project aimed at forecasting the flow of vehicles entering and exiting the Port of
Catania.
As part of the project, Milos® Intelligence was configured to estimate the temporal distribution of
traffic at port gates, providing Port System Authority operators with an advanced tool to support
the planning and monitoring of logistics activities. The solution will make it possible to predict
traffic trends in order to improve the coordination of operations and identify potential congestion
situations in advance. The implementation of the solution was preceded by a structured analysis of
the port logistics context, aimed at defining the system’s operational scope, mapping processes,
and identifying the information flows needed to feed the predictive engine. Subsequently, the
functional requirements, input variables, logical and operational rules for traffic distribution, and
the calculation assumptions underlying the forecasts were identified.
