Circle announces the completion of the project TAURUS – Truck Appointment evolution
for URban Use, an innovative platform dedicated to the intelligent management of access slots in logistic
terminals, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and reducing congestion in logistic nodes located
in city contexts.
The project was realised by Circle in partnership with the companies IROI and Attilio Carmagnani and with
the specialised consultancy of the innovative start-up OPTIMeasy and an activity of the research organisation
CIELI (Centro Italiano di Eccellenza sulla Logistica Integrata) of the University of Genoa.
At the core of the system is the Milos® Truck Appointment Platform (TAP), powered by advanced
optimisation approaches that, based on available resources and operational parameters, suggest the
optimal capacity and width of booking slots in real time. Truck drivers can thus reserve entry to the terminal
at predefined time slots, resulting in a more balanced and controlled distribution of missions.
